With our in-house engineering team, we designed and developed Inverter duty transformers for Solar application in 2011.Shilchar was one of the first manufacturers to supply 3-winding inverter duty transformers in India. We gradually developed 4-winding and 5-winding IDT’s as the demand for solar transformers in India increased. We have also developed IDTs with aluminium and copper foil winding. Shilchar has type tested various 3-winding, 4-winding and 5-winding transformer with Copper and Aluminium conductor. Highest rating type tested is 12.5 MVA, 5 winding IDT. Shilchar has supplied about 4 GWs of transformers for solar application throughout the world. We have supplied IDTs in Philippines, Egypt, Kenya and Chile.
