Design Criteria for Hydro Generator Transformers:
- These transformers operate at rated load and voltage to match the dynamic needs of hydropower plants.
- Hydel power plants must respond quickly to sudden power demands and immediately shut down when load is removed from the grid.
- Transformers are constructed with low flux density cores to meet load rejection requirements as per IS:2026 standards.
- Equipped with 2-core Neutral CT and a down coming earthing bar from the HV side neutral for enhanced safety and protection.
