Inductors & Chokes

Inductors:  Also known as coils or reactors, inductors are used to store or provide energy in a circuit, balance current flow, and adjust impedance. They can also detect objects within a magnetic field, step power up or down, and generate motor shaft rotation.
Chokes: It used to filter out certain frequencies, prevent AC ripples in DC power supplies, and play an important role in mode switching. They're often used in power supply circuits, RF applications, and electronic filters. Chokes are usually made of an insulated wire coil wound around a magnetic core, or a ferrite bead strung on a wire.
Name Chokes are named for their function of "choking" high frequencies while passing low frequencies.
